When we decided to collaborate with Lilly Pulitzer, I did a little research on her and her brand (I love learning about other female entrepreneurs). It turns out those colorful patterns she’s known for were actually the solution to a problem. Lilly started a juice stand in the 1950’s and needed a “uniform” that hid the fruit juice stains that were an occupational hazard. Shift dresses in bright, colorful patterns were the answer! How fun is it that a practical solution turned into an iconic brand?
