I love holiday traditions and making memories. And I LOVE all things Christmas. So, when my daughter came to me and wanted to make Christmas snacks and treats with me, of course I said yes!

I mean when your teenager volunteers to spend time with you, you grab onto those moments and hold on tight.

But here’s the thing. I don’t cook often and I’m not that great in the kitchen. And I don’t have a lot of time, especially during the weeks leading up to Christmas. (Also known as the busiest time of the year for small business owners.)

So… we got creative.

Easy Christmas Snack Tray

We knew we wanted to create a Christmas snack tray perfect for binge-watching Christmas movies and serving any guests that might stop by. We also knew we needed to choose treats that were at our skill level and wouldn’t take all day to make.

I have to say I think we met the challenge! We put together four different, delicious treats and arranged them to look like a fun Christmas Snack Charcuterie Board!

The best part – other than sampling our finished products? We made everything for this easy Christmas snack tray at the same time and did it all in less than 90 minutes!

Getting Started

Grab the shopping list I provided below and get shopping. I found all the basic ingredients from the grocery store and then picked up green icing, red candy melts, and fun Christmas sprinkles in the cake decorating section at Michael’s.

It’s important to start with step one of our Christmas Tree Brownies. We need to get them in the oven first so they can cook and cool while we make the other three snacks.

For the brownies, just grab your favorite brownie mix and make it according to the instructions on the box. I used an 11×8 pan lined with aluminum foil so I could lift it out easily from the pan to cut the baked and cooled brownies into triangles.

Don’t forget to spray the aluminum foil with cooking spray or it WILL stick, and nobody wants broken trees!

How to Make Christmas Toffee Crackers

The brownies need to cool, which gives us the perfect amount of time to make our Christmas Toffee Crackers.

These just might be the perfect Christmas snack! They’re sweet and salty, gooey and crunchy. Sigh…

Toffee Cracker Ingredients

  • Saltine Crackers
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • Christmas candies and sprinkles (we used red & green M&M’s)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Line a 9×13 baking dish with aluminum foil. Cover the entire bottom of the pan with saltine crackers.

3. Mix the brown sugar and butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it begins to boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool for two minutes.

4. Pour the butter and sugar mixture on top of the crackers.

5. Place the pan into the oven for five minutes.

6. Remove the pan from the oven and quickly sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the crackers and return it to the oven for five more minutes.

7. Quickly spread the chocolate over the crackers with a spatula and add all your toppings while it is still hot. Our favorites are marshmallows, M&M’s, and sprinkles.

8. Place the pan in the refrigerator for 45 minutes to allow the chocolate and toffee to harden.

9. Cut into squares like the crackers and enjoy!

How to Make Christmas Pretzel Rods

Up next, Christmas Pretzel Rods. These are quick and easy, not to mention really delicious! They’re also the perfect addition to any Christmas snack tray.

Pretzel Rod Ingredients

  • Rold Gold Pretzel Rods
  • Candy Melts (I used red)
  • Christmas Sprinkles

Instructions

1. Line a cookie sheet or baking pan with aluminum foil and set it on the counter.

2. Melt candy melts in the microwave according to the directions on the bag.

3. Dip pretzel rods into the candy melt and lay them on aluminum foil.

4. Sprinkle immediately with Christmas candies or sprinkles.

5. Leave dipped and decorated pretzels on the counter where they will harden quickly.

Note: Save some broken or smaller pretzel rod pieces for our brownie trees

How to Make Christmas Pretzel Hugs

Our next treat for our easy Christmas snack tray is almost as easy as the pretzel rods, but it does take a bit more time. After all, there are a LOT of little chocolates to unwrap.

This is one of the reasons making these treats with your kids or grandkids is such a great idea! My daughter and I decided to turn it into a competition. I unwrapped the Rolo® caramels and she took care of the Hugs.

I lost. By a lot. I’m convinced it’s because she had the little flag on the top of the Hershey Hugs!

Pretzel Hugs Ingredients

  • Mini pretzels (we used Snyder’s Snaps)
  • Hershey Hugs or Rolo caramels, or both like we used.
  • Red & Green M&Ms

Instructions

1. Line a flat baking sheet with aluminum foil.

2. Lay out pretzels to cover the pan.

3. Unwrap the chocolates and place them on each pretzel.

4. Bake at 200 degrees for 5 minutes.

5. Quickly press an M&M on the top of each chocolate working the chocolate into the pretzel.

6. Let them cool in the fridge for 30 minutes.
